Student Support Services empowers students to overcome challenges, focus on learning and graduate. The department advises assistant principals, assists with parent-related issues and student discipline, and includes coordination of Title IX.
Bullying Prevention
As a district, we strive to make our schools safe and effective learning environments for all.
Types of Bullying
- Physical: Hitting or Pushing
- Social Relational: Spreading rumors, leaving people out on purpose, breaking up friendships
- Verbal: Name calling or taunting
- Cyberbullying: Using the Internet or mobile phones to harm others
Truancy & Dropout Prevention
Regular and punctual attendance is the greatest single factor in school success. Texas Compulsory Attendance Law requires students to attend school regularly, unless otherwise exempted by law. It is the responsibility of the parent and student to cooperate and communicate with the school on all attendance matters. The key to high school graduation is strong school attendance and parental involvement.

Foreign Exchange Students
Leander Independent School District’s (LISD) foreign exchange program provides students from other countries the opportunity to learn about the history of the United States, and the workings of our government, and to improve fluency in both the written and spoken English language. Students are encouraged to take an active part in the academic process and to experience the social culture of youth at LISD.
The dashboard below provides a breakdown of each high school’s current capacity for new foreign exchange students (as of the date listed in the header).
Learn more about LISD’s policies in the Foreign Exchange Student Enrollment & Eligibility Guidelines.
Leander Extended Opportunity (LEO) Center
Leander Extended Opportunity Center (LEO) is Leander ISD’s disciplinary alternative school. LEO serves all grade levels of students (K-12) who commit major offenses or who are involved in a series of less serious offenses. Students are admitted to the LEO Center following a referral by the home campus.
Student Freedom of Speech
Leander ISD embraces opportunities for our students to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences with their friends, family and staff. LISD policies and guidelines direct staff in working with students who desire to communicate their opinions or views. Examples of those policies, which are on the LISD website, include FNA (Legal) and FNA (Local).
