Meeting Protocols

During School Safety and Security Committee Meetings, we want to ensure a safe and secure environment for our community and staff. If you are planning to attend the meeting, please review the Safety, Decorum, and Speakers to the Agenda Protocols.

Speaker to the Agenda Guidelines

The Committee welcomes members of the community to speak about items on the committee meeting agenda at which the community member is speaking. In order to address the Committee, individuals must sign up online through the link provided on the meeting agenda between noon the day prior to meeting and noon the day of the meeting and be present at the meeting when their number is called. In order to receive confirmation of your request to speak, you must provide an email address when completing the form.

Please review the meeting protocols designed to help manage health, safety, decorum, and speaker comments at.

Each speaker will normally be given up to 1.5 minutes to make their comments regardless of the number of items for which they have registered.

  • Speakers to Agenda Items is not a time for back-and-forth discussion with the Committee.
  • The Committee does not allow the use of video, slide, or other electronic presentations.
  • Written statements or supporting materials may be emailed to [email protected] no later than noon the day before the meeting.
  • No abusive statements or threats of confrontation are permitted.
  • Speakers are asked to stay on topic and refrain from naming individuals, especially students, as their identity is protected under law.
  • The LISD School Safety and Security Committee seeks to conduct its meetings in a polite, professional manner, and appreciates comments being shared in a similar fashion.
  • Individuals will be invited to speak in the order in which they signed up. Anyone not present during the Speakers to Agenda Items portion of the meeting when their number is called will forfeit their opportunity to speak.
