Leander ISD is proud to recognize Vandegrift High School FFA standout Madeleine Rawlings as the LISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week!

Madeleine’s exceptional FFA career began as a freshman, when she qualified for state in Vet Science, helping Vandegrift to a second-place finish overall. Her sophomore campaign ended with a state title in the same discipline, and her team represented Texas at the national vet science competition, finishing 8th in the nation. Because state-winning teams cannot compete in the same event the following year, Madeleine moved to Floriculture and won a state championship with her team, which will represent Texas at the national floral competition this month at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.

Aside from her competitive accomplishments, Madeleine has also served in leadership positions, including: junior superintendent for the Greater Leander Project Show, greenhand president, chapter secretary, and has served as the chapter president for the past 2 years. She is also working on becoming a certified veterinary assistant through the Vet Practicum course at Vandegrift.

“Madeleine Rawlings is my ace,” FFA advisor Magan Escamilla said. “I can count on her for anything. She has been a joy to work with. She is loyal, intelligent, driven and a force to be reckoned with. Although I will be sad to see her graduate, I am so excited to see what lies in Madeleine's future. I know she will continue to do amazing things.”

Congratulations to VHS’ Madeleine Rawlings, the LISD CTE Student of the Week!
