Leander ISD's Early Childhood Education services exist to build a strong foundation so that each child is ready to be challenged, encouraged and supported to achieve their highest level of knowledge, skills and character.

We do this by providing quality inclusive experiences responsive to children ages birth to five and to the needs of their families:

By developing strong community and family partnerships
By providing a high quality professional development system
By ensuring a seamless transition
By using developmentally appropriate, research-based and play based instruction
By creating a safe, secure, welcoming and positive environment for children and their families

Parents as Teachers is a free early education program provided by Leander ISD for families with children ages birth to 5 who are interested in learning the best ways to ready their child for school success. These services are also offered to expectant parents. Families must live within the boundaries of the following elementary schools: Bagdad, Camacho, Faubion, Giddens, Knowles, Mason, Plain, Pleasant Hill, Reed and Whitestone.

If your child’s first language is Spanish and would attend one of the bilingual campuses (Bagdad, Knowles, Reed, Whitestone), your family also qualifies for Parents as Teachers.
