Board Policy

Policy Online Leander ISD's Board of Trustees (school board) sets the policies by which LISD operates. Much public school policy is set by state and federal law and listed within the Texas Education Code. These “Legal” policies and a set of corresponding “Local” policies make up the Leander ISD Policy Manual, available online for all parents and community members.

Check Policy

Checks written to the school or any school organization must include on the front of the check the driver's license number and a valid telephone number. Post-dated and temporary checks are not accepted.

In the event that a check written to any Leander ISD campus, club, or organization is returned unpaid by a bank, Leander ISD or it's agent will redeposit your check electronically. Additionally, Leander ISD may electronically collect a returned check fee of $30.00 plus applicable sales tax. This fee is in addition to any fees your bank may charge. The use of a check for payment is your ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND ACCEPTANCE of this policy and its terms.

Leander ISD does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age in its programs and activities and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.

The following information is provided in response to 34 C.F.R. Part 106.8 of the 2020 Title IX Regulations, mandating notice of a nondiscrimination policy and adoption and publication of grievance procedures that provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of student and employee complaints. In accordance with Title IX, the district does not, and is required not to, discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational programs or activities.The requirement not to discriminate extends to employment. As a school district serving students in kindergarten through grade 12, the district is not subject to provisions in Title IX Regulations (Subpart C) prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sex in admissions and recruitment. However, the district does not discriminate on the basis of sex in admissions or transfer requests.

Any individual may report sex discrimination, including sexual harassment, at any time, including during non-business hours, by mail, phone, or email.

Upon receiving an allegation of sex-based harassment, the Title IX Coordinator will promptly respond in accordance with board policies FFH and DIA.

Inquiries about the application of Title IX may be referred to the district’s Title IX Coordinator, to the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights of the Department of Education, or both.
