The Citizens’ Facility Advisory Committee (CFAC) will utilize the district’s long-range facility plan as we continue to manage growth across our 200-square miles.
Steering Committee
Develop a three- to five-year facility plan to meet the needs of this fast-growth school district. Facility considerations will include advising the Board on the number of buildings needed, by when, and recommended ancillary space (such as athletic, science, arts, and other support spaces) including technology infrastructure.
Subcommittees
High School Subcommittee
Develop a three- to five-year facility plan that provides for equitable, quality educational programs and meets the expectations of the community to include a detailed plan of expected high school and alternative schools needs, including ancillary spaces such as athletics, science, and technology. Committee will assess current high school facilities to identify areas needing improvement as well as potential use of optional programs and schools of choice at the High School level to further enhance the student experience and optimize the use of underutilized facilities while managing growth.
Middle School Subcommittee
Develop a three- to five-year facility plan that provides for equitable, quality educational programs and meets the expectations of the community to include a detailed plan of expected middle school needs, including ancillary spaces such as athletics, science, and technology. Committee will assess current middle school facilities to identify areas needing improvement as well as potential use of optional programs and schools of choice at the Middle School level to further enhance the student experience and optimize the use of underutilized facilities while managing growth.
Elementary School Subcommittee
Develop a three- to five-year facility plan that provides for equitable, quality educational programs and meets the expectations of the community to include a detailed plan of expected elementary school needs, and assess the current elementary school facilities to identify areas needing improvement as well as potential use of optional programs and schools of choice at the Elementary School level to further enhance the student experience and optimize the use of underutilized facilities while managing growth.
Technology Subcommittee
Develop a three- to five-year plan for technology needs that will support the provision of quality education programs and meet the expectations of the community as well as assess current technology service facilities to identify areas needing improvement, including infrastructure. Committee will develop a timeline for completion of each technology service project recommended and explore possibilities for cooperative projects with cities, counties, or other entities.
Ancillary Services Subcommittee
Develop a three- to five-year plan for central service and support areas that will support the provision of quality education programs and meet the expectations of the community to include central administration/instructional services, professional development, central athletic/co-curricular facilities, maintenance/grounds/warehouse facilities/transportation/child nutrition services/records retention/document production/science materials center. Committee will assess current ancillary service facilities to identify areas needing improvement and explore possibilities for cooperative projects with cities, counties, or other entities.
Security Subcommittee
Develop a three- to five-year plan for addressing the security needs of LISD facilities that will support the provision of quality education programs and meet the expectations of the community to include high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, alternative campuses, central administration/instructional service, professional development, central athletic/co-curricular facilities, maintenance/grounds/warehouse facilities/transportation/child nutrition services/records retention/document production/science materials center. Committee will explore possibilities for cooperative projects with cities, counties, or other entities.

Each subcommittee will work with a district administrator to evaluate district needs. Subcommittees will work with their team leaders and the steering committee to manage schedules and time.
The culmination of the CFAC planning could include a recommendation for a future bond election package, which will ultimately go to the Board of Trustees for final approval before being presented to voters.
