Homeless Students/No Child Left Behind
The McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act (Title X , Part C of No Child Left Behind federal legislation) ensures educational rights and protection for children and youth experiencing homelessness. Lori Traynham, LISD Homeless Liaison, ensures the identification, school enrollment, and the provision of services and opportunities for academic success of students in homeless situations. If any student or family feels that they are in a homeless situation, information about rights and services is available at each campus or they may contact Lori Traynham at 512-570-0310.
Homebound Services
Homebound services are available to both general education and special education students based on certain criteria. Information is available at each campus or you may contact Jennifer Freeman at 512-570-0266.
Pregnancy Related Services
Pregnancy Related Services (PRS) in LISD are a combination of Support Services and Compensatory Education Home-bound Instruction (CEHI). These services are available to a pregnant student during pregnancy prenatal and postpartum periods to help her adjust academically, mentally, and physically and to remain in school. Students and parents may contact their school counselor or Erin Garner (512-570-0320) for more information about the program and services available.
